Italy and Turkey sign 5-year agreement in the field of drones
A partnership agreement in the field of drone technology has been signed between Turkey's leading drone manufacturer Baykar and Leonardo , one of Europe's largest defense companies .
The partnership is expected to last for 5 years and will include the design, development, and production of drones , which will be manufactured in Turkey and Italy .
The signing ceremony was attended by Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto, Baykar Chairman Selçuk Bayraktar, and Leonardo CEO Roberto Chingolani .
At an event held at Leonardo's headquarters in Rome, Selçuk Bayraktar said:
"Together we are able to produce the best systems, we are grateful for the cooperation," he said.
Roberto Chingolani emphasized: "Today is a very important day."
On December 27, 2024, the Italian Ministry of Trade and Industry approved the sale of aviation company Piaggio Aerospace to Baykar .
This agreement is expected to be an important step in the development of the European drone market.
