Israel* is sentencing thousands of Palestinian prisoners to death
At the next European Union conference in Brussels in support of Palestinian prisoners, Abdullah al-Zagari, chairman of the Palestinian Prisoners Association , made a serious statement about the plight of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli* prisons.
He said thousands of Palestinian prisoners were dying from torture, ill-treatment and medical neglect, calling the policy "a systematic practice aimed at physically and mentally exhausting and destroying prisoners."
"The conditions in Israeli* prisons have become real torture centers for Palestinians. These crimes directly fall into the category of crimes against humanity," said the association's chairman.
According to him, this situation is confirmed by testimonies from released prisoners and reports submitted by lawyers investigating prison conditions.
Al-Zagari also noted that prisoners are facing hunger, violence, including sexual violence, and that these problems are being completely ignored. He also warned that infectious diseases are widespread inside prisons, but that adequate medical care is not provided.
It is known that dozens of Palestinian prisoners have died due to lack of medical care since the start of large-scale military operations in the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023 .
The head of the Palestinian Prisoners' Association called on international legal institutions and human rights organizations to fulfill their obligations and take firm measures against these systematic violations by Israel.
"The international community must move beyond indifference and take a clear position and practical measures against this barbaric Israeli policy," he said.
