China is becoming a strategic partner of Uzbekistan
A government delegation led by Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov visited the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China.
It is reported that during the visit, negotiations were held with Ma Xinjiang, Secretary of the Xinjiang Regional Committee of the Communist Party of China, and opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation in the following areas were discussed:
➖trade,
➖industry,
➖healthcare,
➖transport and logistics,
➖Energy.
The parties noted that the trade volume between Uzbekistan and China reached 13 billion US dollars in 2024. The conversation emphasized that there is a necessary basis for increasing this figure to 20 billion dollars, the report says.
It was also noted at the meeting that Uzbek-Chinese relations are developing on the basis of mutual trust and are moving into a stage of comprehensive strategic cooperation. It was noted that regular contacts and open political dialogue between the leaders of the two states are providing an important impetus to this process.
Earlier, Uzbekistan and China expressed plans to deepen mutual cooperation during the fifth summit in the "Central Asia - China" format .
