A pilot program of a preferential taxi service to transport children with disabilities to school has been launched in Tashkent, Samarkand, and Andijan. The project is being implemented in partnership with the National Agency for Social Protection (NASP) and Yandex Uzbekistan.

According to Gazeta.uz, the taxi service is intended for children studying in special schools and boarding schools. For this, the state will cover transportation costs up to 450,000 soums per month. The amount of compensation can be 60 or 100 percent of the cost of the trip, depending on the established benefits.

Orders are placed through the Yandex Go app at the "Comfort" fare. The app also features a special icon for wheelchair users and the ability to request assistance from the driver, the publication reports.

The company said that Yandex Go does not receive any revenue from the service, with state funds paid directly to drivers. The project only involves children with visual, motor, and intellectual disabilities.

This initiative is a continuation of the "Social Taxi" project launched in Tashkent in November 2024.
