A ranking published by Reporters Without Borders stated that "freedom of speech has reached its lowest level in the world."

According to the ranking, the situation of media workers in 90 out of 180 countries and territories is recognized as "difficult" or "very serious".

Along with the instability of the security environment and the rise of authoritarianism, economic pressure remains a major cause.

The authors of the rating note that today, editorial offices around the world are increasingly forced to choose between the desire for independence and economic survival.

The organization's executive director, Anya Oosterhaus, expressed concern that if the media falls into financial difficulties, they will be unable to expose false information, disinformation, and propaganda.
