Israeli soldiers flee Netherlands for fear of arrest for war crimes in Gaza
An Israeli soldier who arrived in Amsterdam on February 17 and committed war crimes in Gaza and his accomplice fled the Dutch capital for fear of being arrested. Earlier, Israeli reservist Yuval Vagdani fled Brazil for the same reason.
According to a statement from the X account of the Hind Rajab Foundation, which aims to track down Israeli soldiers who committed war crimes in Gaza and bring them to justice in national and international cases, two Israeli soldiers, one of whom is a war criminal, were forced to leave the Dutch capital, Amsterdam, for fear of being arrested.
The foundation's lawyers arrived in Amsterdam on February 17 to seek legal action against Israeli soldiers for war crimes committed in Gaza.
It is reported that after some users tagged the foundation's social media accounts and shared photos of Israeli soldiers arriving in Amsterdam, "the Israelis became concerned" and "kidnapped" the two soldiers from the Netherlands.
The Hind Rajab Foundation had filed a formal complaint with the International Criminal Court, requesting an arrest warrant for Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar ahead of his visit to the country for "war crimes and crimes against humanity" committed during Israel's attacks on Gaza since October 7, 2023.
The Brussels-based Hind Rajab Foundation has identified a large number of Israeli soldiers who were found to have committed war crimes in Gaza, and has called on the administrations of countries where they are based, such as Italy and Brazil, to arrest them.
For example, Israeli reservist Yuval Vagdani fled Brazil to Argentina after learning that authorities had launched an investigation on January 3.
The Hind Rajab Foundation, named after a Palestinian girl killed by Israeli soldiers at the age of 6, is headquartered in Brussels, the capital of Belgium.
