Half of the ammunition Russia uses in Ukraine comes from North Korea
Russia is receiving significant military assistance from North Korea (DPRK) to supply its army with weapons and technical equipment, Reuters reported.
According to the source, over the past 20 months, 64 large sea cargo shipments have been made from the DPRK to Russia. During this period, between 4 million and 6 million artillery shells were delivered.
Analysts at the British Open Source Centre say that nearly 50% of the ammunition used by the Russian army in recent months has been delivered through North Korea.
Kirill Budanov, head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine, also confirmed this news.
According to Western officials, Russia produced only 2 million to 2.3 million rounds of ammunition through domestic production in 2024. This shows that aid from North Korea has become an important strategic resource for Russia.
