Earlier, reports circulated on social media that a special facility for storing arsenic located in the Yakkatut Federal District, Bostanlyk District, posed a threat to the Charvak Reservoir.

The Agency for Waste Management and Circular Economy Development announced that the facility is under constant surveillance and that the reports are unfounded.

It is noted that the negative impact of the mine on the environment and the population has been limited. The area has been surrounded by concrete barrier walls and preserved, and wire fencing has been installed throughout the area. Also, clean inert soil has been laid on top of the object, and drilling (perforation) has been carried out to prevent the passage of rainwater, wastewater, and wet mass into the wall.
