Officials from Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan have agreed on free and unhindered use of the Chashma spring.


An agreement was reached on the delimitation and demarcation of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz border at a meeting of government delegations of the two countries.


The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Kamchibek Tashiev. The parties approved the description of the proposed state border crossing line.


According to the agreement, the Chashma spring will remain in Kyrgyzstan. At the same time, citizens of Uzbekistan will be able to freely use the spring.


The Uzbek side will have the right to use two-thirds of the water volume.
