Uzbekistan and Iran plan to establish a joint committee in the field of tourism, Dunyo news agency reported.

The initiative was discussed during a meeting between Uzbek Ambassador to Iran Fariddin Nasriev and Iranian Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts Seyyed Reza Salehi Amiri. The parties also touched upon issues of expanding cooperation within the framework of UNESCO.

Iran intends to increase the flow of tourists between the two countries and cooperate with Uzbekistan in the field of agricultural technologies. An Uzbek delegation has also been invited to the 18th International Tourism Exhibition to be held in Tehran from February 11-14.
