Two Russian citizens wanted in connection with the assassination of Komil Allamjonov
Two Russian citizens, Bislan Rasaev and Shamil Temirkhanov, have been put on the wanted list in connection with the attempted murder of Komil Allamjonov. They are accused of illegally entering and leaving Uzbekistan, failing to report a crime, and illegally possessing firearms.
The Prosecutor General's Office provided information on the attempted murder case against Komil Allamjonov, the former head of the Information Policy Department of the Presidential Administration.
According to it, citizens of the Russian Federation Bislan Rasaev and Shamil Temirkhanov were found to have committed criminal acts such as illegal entry and exit from Uzbekistan, failure to report a crime, and illegal possession of firearms.
B. Rasaev and Sh. Temirkhanov were involved in absentia as defendants under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan, and a precautionary measure in the form of detention was applied to them. They are currently wanted by Interpol.
Bislan Rasaev is 36 years old, speaks Russian and Chechen. The Interpol website lists the following charges:
Part 1 of Article 241: Failure to report a grave or especially grave crime being prepared or committed, with specific knowledge - shall be punishable by a fine of up to fifty times the basic calculation amount, or up to three hundred and sixty hours of compulsory community service, or up to two years of correctional labor, or up to one to three years of restriction of liberty, or up to three years of imprisonment.
Part 1 of Article 246. Smuggling - punishable by imprisonment for a term of 5 to 10 years.
Part 1 of Article 248. Illegal trafficking in firearms, ammunition, essential parts of firearms, explosives, explosive devices or explosive devices is punishable by a fine in the amount of up to fifty times the basic calculation amount, or by restriction of liberty for a term of two to five years, or by imprisonment for a term of up to five years.
Shamil Temirkhanov is 31 years old and speaks Russian. According to the Interpol website, he is accused of:
Failure to report a crime or attempting to cover it up.
Illicit trafficking in firearms, ammunition, essential parts of firearms, explosives, explosive substances or explosive devices.
It should be recalled that on the night of October 26, near a railway crossing in the Kibray district, two unknown individuals fired several shots at the Range Rover car in which Komil Allamjonov was sitting and fled the scene. The driver and the former official were not injured.
A criminal case has been initiated under Articles 25, 97 (Attempted murder) and 248 (Illegal trafficking in firearms, ammunition, main parts of firearms, explosives, explosive devices or explosive devices) of the Criminal Code.
On the morning of October 27, the Prosecutor General's Office announced the arrest of one suspect. A day later, it was announced that three more people had been detained.
The Prosecutor General's Office reported on November 25 that the number of suspects in the assassination has reached 7 people, and two of them have been declared wanted. In particular, one of them, Javlon Yunusov, was arrested in South Korea and extradited to Uzbekistan. Another was found hiding in Kazakhstan.
