During the inspection activities conducted by the Cultural Heritage Agency, it was determined that a total of 46.8 billion soums of damage was caused to historical buildings dating back to the 19th and 20th centuries in the Samarkand region, the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office reported .

In particular, the "Kushok Ota" mosque in the Kattakurgan district was destroyed, causing damage to the monument worth 19.6 billion soums, and the "Ahmad Yassaviy" and "Hoji Orinboy" mosques in Urgut were destroyed, causing damage to the monument worth 17 billion soums.
The "Kulba" architectural monument in the Samarkand district suffered 10.2 billion soums in damage due to unauthorized renovations.

Criminal cases have been initiated regarding the identified cases, and control measures are continuing, the report says.
