This summer, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kazakhstan will drink water from "Bahri Tajik"
An agreement has been signed between Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan on the use of the Bahri Tajik reservoir for the summer season of 2025. This was announced by the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan.
According to the distribution, 491 million cubic meters (m³) of water will be allocated to Kazakhstan from June to the end of August.
There has been no official information yet on the exact amount of water allocated for Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
For your information, the "Bahri Tajik" (formerly "Kayrakkum") reservoir is one of the largest water sources in Tajikistan, built in 1950 to receive water from the Syrdarya River. This reservoir is also called the "Tajik Sea".
