On January 3, 2025, a 19-year-old soldier serving in a military unit affiliated with the Emergency Response Force in the city of Nukus entered a civilian home while drunk and assaulted a sleeping woman.

According to the internal affairs bodies, Garanin Maxim escaped from a military unit under the Ministry of Emergency Situations and attacked the local population.

At approximately 4:00 a.m., he illegally entered an apartment on Danalar Street and attempted to rape a woman. At that moment, her husband woke up and stopped the soldier. The drunk soldier attacked the man with a knife, causing serious injuries. The 28-year-old ZQ died in hospital from his injuries.

The drunken soldier then attacked a father and son, aged 64 and 37, and later another father and son, aged 68 and 43, on Aybuyir Street. In total, six people were stabbed, four of whom were hospitalized.

A 20 cm long axe was recovered from the scene as the crime weapon. The suspect has reportedly been arrested.

The Prosecutor General's Office has initiated a criminal case under Article 97 (intentional murder) and Articles 25, 97 (attempted intentional murder), Part 2, Subparagraphs "a, l" of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan.

An investigation is currently underway by the military prosecutor's office.
