UzA reports that 15.7 hectares of land have been allocated for the construction of an ecotourism complex in the area.
The ecotourism site on the large reservoir will feature cottages, a swimming pool, parking and car washes, shops, catering and other consumer services, and waterside pavilions.
Previously, 577 hectares of land at the foot of the Charvak reservoir, which supplies water to the capital's population, were directly leased to "See Breeze Uzbekistan" LLC for 25 years. A large tourist complex is being built in this area. Ecologists have warned that the construction of this facility will harm nature.
