Human rights organization Amnesty International has accused Israel of deliberately pursuing a policy of starvation against Palestinians in Gaza.
The demonstration took place in the courtyard of the Bilal ibn Rabah Mosque near the city of Sidon.
Professor Mohamed Biltaji, who has been in prison for 12 years, said: "For eight years, we have not seen the sun or the color of the sky. Not to mention our mothers, wives or children. The suffering in Egyptian prisons is probably not seen anywhere else in the world."
