One of the biggest plane crashes in recent years

The previous major air crash in Alaska occurred in 2013, when a cargo plane crashed, killing 10 people.

The United States has seen several air disasters in recent days. On January 29, an American Airlines passenger plane and a Black Hawk military helicopter collided in mid-air in Washington, D.C., and both crashed into the Potomac River. As a result, 67 people died.

On January 31, a small medical plane crashed into houses in Philadelphia, killing six people - the crew, the patient, and his mother.

An investigation into the incident by authorities is ongoing.
