Shavkat Mirziyoyev participated in the informal meeting of CIS heads of state held in St. Petersburg, Russia, on December 25, the press service of the head of state reported.

The event was attended by the presidents of these countries: from Russia - Vladimir Putin, from Belarus - Alexander Lukashenko, from Kazakhstan - Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, from Kyrgyzstan - Sadyr Japarov, from Tajikistan - Emomali Rahmon, and from Turkmenistan - Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

The meeting summarized the main results of joint work in 2024 and considered the priority tasks of multilateral cooperation for the coming year.

Views were exchanged on the prospects for developing multifaceted partnership in new areas. We are talking about the establishment of engineering schools, Internet technologies, the big data industry, the creative economy, the development of "green" energy and peaceful nuclear energy, and the introduction of digital solutions.

They also discussed topical issues of regional and international importance, as well as expanding practical cooperation within the CIS in combating common threats and risks.
