A driver rescued an 11-month-old baby who had crawled onto the highway without a top on near the village of Stanovoye in the Moscow region. Noticing the freezing, crying child, the driver immediately stopped, tried to warm him up, and called an ambulance and the police.

The rescuer took the child to his car, wrapped him in a blanket, and turned on the stove to warm him up. A woman approached him and said she was the child's grandmother, but the driver did not hand over the baby until law enforcement officers and doctors arrived. It was later determined that the woman was in fact the child's relative.

Doctors diagnosed the baby with a first-degree cold and he is currently receiving outpatient treatment. The driver was offered a reward by the child's parents, but he refused, saying that the money would be better spent on the baby's needs.

The Moscow Regional Prosecutor's Office is investigating the incident.
