US fleet withdraws north of Jeddah
In recent days, Yemen's Houthi-controlled naval forces have not attacked the US CVN-75 Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier strike group, the "Militarist" Telegram channel reports.
The source said the main reason for this is that the US fleet is withdrawing north of Jeddah, using Mecca and Medina as a "shield". At the same time, they are waiting for the aircraft carrier CVN-70 Carl Vinson to arrive in the area 850 km off the coast of Yemen.
If the Houthis launch an attack, the Americans could be forced to shoot down missiles and drones over the holy cities, which would provoke strong protests in the Islamic world. Although the threat level is high, there is relative calm for now.
The US is acting cautiously, skillfully exploiting its strategic location. Saudi Arabia is trying to use the holy sites as its diplomatic advantage, the report says.
At the same time, although the Houthis are currently continuing some attacks in the western direction, this time they are not in a hurry, because in the open coastal area there is a risk of detection by American reconnaissance aircraft and satellites.
