US cancels reward for Haqqani
The US has unexpectedly canceled rewards for information on the whereabouts of Sirajuddin Haqqani, the Interior Minister of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, and other senior government officials, including Abdulaziz and Yahya Haqqani, Ariana News reported.
Previously, a reward of $5 million was announced for each of them, and $10 million for Sirajuddin Haqqani.
The Afghan government has decided to revoke the award and remove them from the "blacklist" after the American citizen was released. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio described the event as a "positive signal" for bilateral relations.
It should be noted that members of the Haqqani Network were wanted by the United States for coordinating and participating in cross-border attacks on American troops and NATO coalition forces in Afghanistan.
