US accelerates $4 billion arms delivery to Israel
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced that he had signed a memorandum to expedite the delivery of approximately $4 billion worth of weapons to Israel.
According to a statement from the US State Department, Rubio has lifted the "partial arms embargo" imposed by the administration of former President Joe Biden.
According to him, since Donald Trump took office, the United States has approved $12 billion in arms sales to Israel .
The Secretary of State added that the United States will continue to support Israel .
On February 8, the US administration approved a new arms sale to Israel worth $7.4 billion . The following weapons will be delivered to Israel under this agreement:
- 2,166 small-diameter bombs;
- 2,800 500-kilogram general-purpose bombs;
- 13,000 Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) navigational equipment;
- Thousands of bombs and navigation systems of various categories.
