US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order establishing a new Office of Religious Affairs, appointing pastor and popular televangelist Paula White as its head.

Paula White is one of the most outspoken supporters of Israel, calling it "God's chosen people" in her sermons. She is also known for her support for the construction of a "Third Temple" on the site of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.

According to reports, the Trump administration is appointing individuals who protect Israeli interests to senior positions. Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, who supports Israel's annexation of the West Bank, is being considered for the position of US ambassador to Israel.

Pentagon chief candidate Pete Hegseth has also said in previous speeches that a Jewish synagogue should be rebuilt in Jerusalem.

Trump moved the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem in 2018, sparking international controversy. His close relationship with Israel continues under the new administration.
