Russian MP proposes using elderly people in "car washes"
Surgut City Duma deputy Evgeny Barsov proposed using pensioners at car washes.
According to local media, Barsov's proposal has sparked sharp public criticism.
The deputy said that with this proposal, he wants to help the elderly cover their daily expenses. He believes that this work can be an additional source of income for pensioners.
Hardworking seniors can earn up to 100,000 rubles a month and benefit society with their work, he says. The deputy also said that, according to his observations, seniors do not work at car washes.
It is worth noting that, according to his 2018 income declaration, Barsov owned 10 sports aircraft, 29 apartments and land plots, and made a profit of 33.5 million rubles that year.
