"Not even a grain of wheat will reach Gaza" - Israeli Finance Minister
Israeli Finance Minister Betzalel Smotrich has issued a stern statement that no humanitarian aid will be allowed to reach the Gaza Strip. According to TRT, he made the bold statement that "not even a grain of wheat will reach Gaza. "
After the first phase of the prisoner exchange agreement was completed last week, Israel completely blocked the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.
According to international organizations, an estimated 2.3 million Palestinians in Gaza are on the brink of starvation. Local bakeries have been unable to operate since the beginning of the month due to flour and fuel shortages in the region.
Earlier, Israeli media reported that the military was considering allowing partial humanitarian aid to enter in the coming weeks. However, Smotrich dismissed such possibilities and reiterated that no aid would be allowed into Gaza.
As a reminder, TRT Global reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had a conversation with Defense Minister Yisrael Katz while flying to Washington. It was revealed that Netanyahu ordered a "strong response" to the rocket attacks and continued massive attacks on Gaza.
For his part, Defense Minister Katz also confirmed that he had instructed the army to deliver "very strong strikes."
The attacks reportedly completely destroyed the home of the al-Naffar family in Khan Yunis. Local sources say there are casualties and injuries.
