Thousands of names of Israeli soldiers sent to international court
Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that a Brussels-based human rights organization has submitted data to the International Criminal Court in The Hague on Israeli soldiers who left "digital footprints" during military operations in Gaza, Lebanon and Syria. The organization that submitted the data, Hind Rajab, was founded last year to fight impunity for Israeli soldiers.
The organization is named after Hind Rajab, a five-year-old girl who was killed in a car bomb attack by the Israeli army in early 2024. Hind Rajab uses videos and photos of Israeli soldiers posted online as criminal evidence. These images are seen as credible evidence of war crimes.
According to the publication, the soldiers violated Israeli army regulations by posting about their actions on social media, and could now face action under international law.
The Indian Rajab organization plans to use the next step to make the soldiers' personal information public and arrest them abroad. In particular, the goal is to capture them at holiday resorts in Europe and Asia.
