Media: Schools in Tula region plan to ban headscarves
Media outlets reported that schools in Russia's Tula region are planning to ban the hijab and niqab from March 1, IslamNews reports.
Relevant reports state that this will be mentioned in the order of the regional Ministry of Education. However, there is no information on this matter on the official website of the regional Ministry of Education.
Recall that in October last year, the hijab was banned in schools in the Vladimir region of Russia.
Earlier, Valery Fadeev, the head of the Human Rights Council, who has been expressing nationwide public initiatives recently, explained why there is no need to rush to spread the so-called Vladimir case to other regions of Russia.
According to the head of the Human Rights Council, this measure was received critically by some sections of society. In particular, Muslim circles were sympathetic to the ban on the niqab (face covering), which is optional in Islam, but did not agree with the requirement for women to abandon the element of clothing that covers the hair and neck.
