Kabul and Damascus agree to develop relations
The Afghan government intends to develop diplomatic relations with the new Syrian leadership.
In a telephone conversation between Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi and Syrian Interim Government Foreign Minister Asad Hassan al-Shaibani, issues of strengthening cooperation between the two countries and establishing an exchange of delegations were discussed.
Al-Muttaqi congratulated his Syrian counterpart on his "recent achievements" and expressed his readiness to strengthen diplomatic ties with Damascus. Al-Shaibani, on the other hand, stressed his support for strengthening cooperation through high-level visits.
