Iran displays new long-range ballistic missile
The Iranian Ministry of Defense publicly unveiled its new medium-range ballistic missile, the Qasem Basir, at an official event in Tehran , Yeni Şafak reported.
It is noted that the missile has a flight range of at least 1,200 kilometers and is equipped with a modern high-precision guidance system.
According to Iranian officials, the Qasem Basir is capable of defeating even advanced US missile defense systems such as the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD).
This feature makes the missile an effective tool against the systems of the United States and its regional allies.
The report says that the missile is named after Iranian General Qasem Soleimani, who was killed in a US strike in 2020.
The Iranian Ministry of Defense has emphasized that the development of this missile is part of the country's "asymmetric deterrence" strategy and policy of strengthening its defense capabilities.
