IDF put on combat alert in Gaza Strip
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have been put on full combat alert following Hamas's announcement to halt the transfer of Israeli hostages, Defense Minister Israel Katz announced yesterday, February 10.
The Gaza Strip has been reinforced with additional forces for defense, the vacations of soldiers and command units have been postponed, and forces are preparing for various scenarios, the report said.
Hamas officials had earlier announced that they would postpone the planned February 15 hostage handover to Israel due to non-compliance with the ceasefire. The list of alleged violations by Israel includes: preventing Palestinians from returning to the northern Gaza Strip, and preventing the entry of tents, fuel, medicine, and equipment for clearing rubble.
