Hamas rejects US demand to lay down arms
Senior Hamas official Hussam Badran has called Donald Trump's Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff's remarks about the need to demilitarize the Palestinian movement "nonsense."
He said that the movement will not stop its resistance as long as the Israeli occupation continues. Hussam Badran also stressed that from the perspective of international law, the Palestinians' resistance to the Zionists is not against any law.
"When we talk about resistance, it is a weapon of the Palestinian people. It is the Palestinians' duty to fight against the occupation, as guaranteed by international laws and conventions," Badran said.
