Belarus will attract more than 150,000 skilled workers from Pakistan to its construction sector, Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif announced during his official visit to Minsk.

He called Belarus's offer "a great gift for the people of Pakistan."

The Prime Minister said that Pakistani specialists have international standard certificates and can make a significant contribution to the growth of the Belarusian economy.

BelTA news agency reported that in order to facilitate the implementation of these plans, Lukashenko took the initiative to establish direct flights between Islamabad and Minsk.

"Air travel is necessary for Pakistani workers to arrive in Belarus quickly and conveniently. We intend to actively work on this issue," the Belarusian leader said during an official meeting.

During the talks in Minsk, the parties discussed not only labor exchange, but also opportunities for developing cooperation in agriculture, mining, and military-technical areas.
