"Bahrain launched its first national satellite, Al-Munzir, into orbit on Saturday," Arab News reported. The device was developed by the Bahrain National Science and Space Agency, and only Bahraini specialists participated in its design and creation.

Al-Munzir is the first satellite in the Middle East to process images using artificial intelligence.

"The successful launch of this satellite is an important step for the Kingdom of Bahrain on its path to space exploration. I am proud of the achievements of the National Space Agency team. By launching this satellite into orbit, we have begun a new phase in testing orbital systems," said the head of the agency, Mohammed Ibrahim Al-Asiri.

The satellite is equipped with Earth observation cameras and a cybersecurity system. Al-Munzir will operate in a sun-synchronous orbit at an altitude of 550 km and will have a service life of 2 years.
