43 killed in Israeli attack on Gaza school
Earlier, the Gaza Civil Defense Department reported that charred bodies were found at the Khalil Uweida School after an Israeli attack.
Forty-three Palestinians were killed in an Israeli attack on the Khalil Uweida School, where displaced people were sheltering, in the northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Hanoun.
Ismail al-Sawabita, head of the Palestinian government's press office, told a press conference that at least 43 people were killed in the shelling of a school housing internally displaced persons.
He also noted that Israel has targeted more than 213 shelters since October 7, when attacks on Gaza began.
Al-Sawabita added that Israeli forces killed four civil defense personnel, bringing the total number of rescue workers killed to 94.
He said that over the past two days, Israel has launched new attacks on the Nusayrat and Burij refugee camps, resulting in the deaths of 42 Palestinians.
He noted that medical personnel have been frequently attacked, in particular, several doctors and medical staff were killed at Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza.
The school, where about 1,500 people were sheltering, was hit by artillery and random gunfire, according to the department. At least 10 people were burned alive.
Since October 7, Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip have killed 44,976 people, including 17,492 children and 11,979 women. 106,759 people have been injured.
